Your faces stay yours.

The short version. Leon blurs faces on your device. The extension sends nothing anywhere: no images, no videos, no analytics, no account. The website sets no cookies and runs no analytics. The only data we ever see is the order ID and email you type into Find my key, and we don't keep it.
The extension
Leon finds faces with YuNet, a face detection model under the MIT license that ships inside the extension. Every image, screenshot and video you blur is processed in your browser on your device and never uploaded. This holds in Chrome, Firefox and Safari alike; the detector runs in a hidden extension page in Chrome and in the extension's background page in Firefox and Safari.
- Leon makes no network requests. It has no analytics, no telemetry, no crash reporting and no accounts.
- Your settings and your license key are saved in your browser's extension storage on this device.
- Blurred images go to your clipboard or, when you ask, to your downloads folder. Leon keeps no copies.
- The live blur preview reads the frames of a video already playing in your tab, blurs them on your device and shows them over the video. No frame leaves the device or is stored.
- Your license key is checked on the device against a public key built into Leon. Pro never contacts a server to confirm you paid.
Why Leon asks for its permissions
- activeTab: to capture the tab you're on, or read the image or video you right-clicked, only when you click Leon, press its shortcut or pick one of its menu items. No access to any tab otherwise.
- contextMenus: to add “Blur faces and copy” to the right-click menu on images, “Blur and save this video…” and “Preview blur live (compare line)” on videos, and three items to the toolbar button's menu.
- scripting: only for the live blur preview. When you pick it, Leon lays its compare line over the video in that one tab. It injects nothing anywhere else and never on its own.
- clipboardWrite: to put the blurred PNG on your clipboard.
- storage: to remember your settings and your license key, on this device.
- offscreen (Chrome and other Chromium browsers): to run the face detector in a hidden extension page. Firefox and Safari have no such page and don't ask for this.
- downloads (Chrome, Edge and Firefox): to save a blurred image or video when you click Download. Safari saves through a regular download link and doesn't ask for this.
This website
This site has no cookies, no analytics and no tracking pixels. Its fonts and images are served from here. The one thing it loads from another server is Paddle's checkout script on the homepage, which opens the checkout when you choose a Pro plan. Our host, Vercel, keeps standard request logs (such as IP address and the page asked for) for a short time to run and protect the service.
Find my key
Right after checkout, and when you use Find my key, your order ID (and, for a later lookup, your email) is sent to our key server. It asks Paddle whether that order was paid, signs a license key, and sends it back to you. The server has no database: it stores neither your order ID, nor your email, nor the key. It does keep a short in-memory count of lookups per network address for ten minutes. The key page then offers the key to Leon in your browser; Leon accepts it only from this site, checks it on your device, and tells nobody.
Buying Leon Pro
Paddle.com is our reseller and the merchant of record for Leon Pro. They run the checkout, take the payment, handle sales tax and send your receipt, under their own privacy policy. We can see your order in our Paddle dashboard (name, email, country, plan) to answer support requests and handle refunds. We never see your card.
Changes and contact
If this policy changes, the new version goes on this page with a new date. Questions go to boss@cezaraugusto.net.
